Following the success of the formation of the Nexus in 2010 and the massive push of CM Punk this past summer, the WWE is attempting to catch lightning in a bottle one more time this year to re-engage the fans of the company.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via WrestlingInc.com) Thursday, WWE creative is currently being pushed to come up with a "knock your socks off" type of angle for the summer.

Instead of a major storyline just for the summer, the WWE should actually make a concerted effort to improve the current poor storylines that have left the fans bored and caused ratings to dip over the past few weeks.

It can also be unanimously agreed upon by fans of the WWE that the angle involving John Laurinaitis as GM of both Raw and Smackdown has been a failure as Johnny Ace can’t successfully portray a heel authority figure.

As for the big storyline that is supposedly in the works for this summer, it is safe to predict that it will be abruptly ended for no real reason just like the aforementioned past storylines with the Nexus and all the momentum Punk was carrying into last fall.

With the creative team for the WWE charged with developing a major storyline for the remainder of the summer, what type of storyline would you like to see in the coming weeks that could possibly grab the attention of the fans?
