Alex Morgan, US Soccer Olympic Athlete Talks London 2012 and Maxim Hot 100: BR5

BR5Daily ShowJune 4, 2012

Welcome to BR5, your daily source for sports and pop culture news.

Our wonderful host, Desi  Sanchez, spent a few minutes with U.S. women's soccer player Alex Morgan to catch up on her hopes for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London. Alex talked to Desi about her exciting goal in the Women's World Cup this past summer against Japan. The goal was a bittersweet one; it was the moment that launched Morgan into the nation's view, but it was also a game that the U.S. women's team ended up losing to take second place in the World Cup.

After they talked sports, they moved on to what Morgan has been doing off the pitch. She was recently voted into the Maxim's Hot 100, along with a few other female athletes. Morgan talked about how humble she felt being on the list, as well as her success at beating out Stephen Colbert at No. 69. Morgan also mentions that Colbert would not have made her personal Hot 100.

Alex was recently in Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Edition in a sexy bikini. The swim apparel was made completely from body paint and looked like an opaque, normal fabric. Morgan confessed that posing for SI was more stressful than the upcoming Olympics, which was a surprise to Desi.
