Even The New Yankee Stadium Has It's Negatives
So I finally got stabbed in the back by my favorite team, the New York Yankees. I was informed this week that I will not be offered the 41 game plan that I had last season and instead I would be offered a 20 game plan and put on the 41 game plan waiting list.
I read an article here on Bleacher Report this week about how the Yankees were warning their current season ticket holders that the 41 game plan has become limited. Apparently, I am getting the short end of the stick on this deal.
I had been sharing the "B" plan with a friend from 2002-2007 and then finally obtained my own plan in 2008. Then I received the relocation plan in the mail back in the fall and it seemed like I would be fine to retain the plan for 2009. Not happening.
It is a tough pill to swallow, considering I have been to every playoff game in the Bronx since 2002. And now I am not guaranteed tickets to the playoffs this year. I know I will not be the only fan affected by these changes but unfortunately, there is nothing much we can do.
All I can do right now is pretty much hope that this is just a one year thing and I get my tickets back for the 2010 season. I know its a business and all, but it still sucks that the die hard and loyal fans get shot down this way. I guess its off to Stubhub to try to get Opening Day Tickets for about 15 times more then I should be paying for them.
