If you’ve looked at his stats this season, it’s obvious that Wisdom is having a disappointing year at the plate. However, the third baseman’s strong track record over his last two seasons at St. Mary’s and in the Alaska League is reason enough to believe that this year’s production is fluky.

His corner infield frame and natural bat speed give him projectable plus power, and he may be able to hit for a respectable batting average given his above-average plate discipline.

At the hot corner, Wisdom is a solid defender with an instinctual first step and good glove, although his plus arm stands out as his best defensive tool.

The combination of his above-average defense and plus power make him a highly intriguing prospect, and he's a potential steal given the lack of bats with such natural power potential. Assuming that his current season evolves into something of the past, Wisdom could be in line for a 2016 big-league debut.

The Cardinals used the No. 52 overall pick, in the compensation round, to select Wisdom.
