Toro Rosso have announced that they will retain Sebastien Bourdais for the 2009 Formula One season.

There was much doubt surrounding the Frenchman's future after a disapointing 2008 campaign which saw him score only four points. He will now team up with the rookie Swiss driver Sebastian Buemi after Sebastian Vettel was promoted to partner Mark Webber at Red Bull.

Toro Rosso who are yet too launch their car for the upcoming season are hoping Bourdais can improve on last years experience. This move puts Jensen Button's hopes of a seat on the circuit into further doubt.
