Dodgers announce first ever Serie Azul Game!

Today the Dodgers have announced the first ever regular-season Mexican Baseball League game held in an MLB stadium. Scheduled for May 16, 2009 at 6:05 PM.

The event will feature the two most storied franchises in the history of Mexican baseball: Diablos Rojos del México and the Sultanes of Monterrey.

Monterrey, is a historic center of Mexican baseball and was just a few years ago considered a possible future home of the Montreal Expos. MLB's  first franchise in a French-language market could of become the first MLB franchise permanently based in a Spanish league market. Instead the Expos were moved to Washington D.C.

The Diablos Rojos del Mexico have won a record 15 titles in the since the creation of  La Liga Mexicana de Baseball in 1925. This includes the 2008 championship. The team is based in Mexico City.

Tickets will be reasonably priced. The event will come on the heels of the World Baseball Classic finals which will be held at Dodger Stadium at March.
