3-Point Contestants Announced for 2009 NBA All-Star Game
The 3-point contestants were announced for the 2009 NBA All-Star game held in Phoenix.
Here is a list of the players that will be participating in this year’s shootout:
- Jason Kapono
- Rashard Lewis
- Mike Bibby
- Danny Granger
- Roger Mason
- Daquean Cook
I am not sure how you reacted to this list, but I questioned the state of basketball that we are in.
Are you telling me these are the best 3-point shooters we have? I know there a few left off the list who decided not to participate but come on.
It just goes to show you how pitiful the All-Star weekend has become and how terrible the shooters are in the NBA. Here is a comparison to the 1988 All-Star game participants (I picked a random year):
- Danny Ainge
- Larry Bird
- Dale Ellis
- Craig Hodges
- Mark Price
- Trent Tucker
- Byron Scott
- Detlef Schrempf
I think the second list could beat the first list with blind-folds on.
Is there any comparison between the two lists?
I would rather watch this years group play a game of “Knockout” instead of a 3-point competition.
I mean, they are already playing H-O-R-S-E.
