San Diego State Aztecs Football—A Threat in 2009
The 2009 football season will finally be the Aztecs' chance to shine.
For the first time in years, they will finally get to go to a bowl game. Here are some reasons why.
1. Easy Non-Conference Schedule—They open at UCLA, which will be a great game to watch. Afterward, they head back to San Diego and play the I-AA Southern Utah University. After that, they play at Idaho, and they return to a New Mexico State home game. Realistically, the Aztecs could start out 4-0.
2. New Coach—Ball State's previous coach, Brady Hoke, decided to coach the Aztecs. Considering how well the Cardinals played last year, I think Hoke could help the Aztecs win.
3. Many Returning Players—Freshman standout Ryan Lindley returns, along with tailbacks Brandon Sullivan and Atiyyah Henderson. On offense, they have 9 returning starters. On defense, they have 8 returning starters.
All in all, I see San Diego State being a threat to every team they play—including BYU, TCU, and Utah.
