Tebow Shows True Colors at New York Jets' OTAs

BR5Daily ShowMay 25, 2012

Welcome to BR5, your daily source for sports and pop culture news. It’s late May, and you know what that means sports fans!

NFL time?

Apparently, in New York it is. The NFL has caused quite a stir in NYC recently. To recap: Tim Tebow was traded to the New York Jets, the NFL Draft happened at Radio City Music Hall and OTAs started.

OTAs (Organized Team Activities) are usually just as interesting as they sound, but in New York, the media was all over it and with good reason.

Not because of the broken right foot that wide receiver, Hakeem Nicks, sustained in the New York Giants OTAs (though he will be out for at least three months as a result).

There were much bigger things going on than that in New York! The backup quarterback and apparent special-teams specialist, Tim Tebow, participated in the Jets OTAs, and the world stopped.

Tebow showed up, participated and did what just about everyone else does. Specifically, he looked about as good as he did in most of his starts for the Denver Broncos last season. He completed six of the eight passes he threw in the nine snaps that he took during 11-on-11 drills. But he also had back-to-back interceptions during the seven-on-seven drills.

Another positive: He’s going to be a great punt protector!

We hope.

Actually, we won’t know for sure until they strap the pads on…
