Despite coming off of an epic fight with Juan Manuel Marquez, Manny Pacquiao's next bout against current WBO Light Welterweight champion Timothy Bradley will be one for the ages.
The fight with Marquez was as close as it could get, with Pacquiao coming out with a 115-113 majority decision. This was the third time the two fought, so this upcoming fight with Bradley comes on a blank slate.
Pacquiao's experience and status speaks for itself, but Bradley is coming into this fight without a blemish on his record. No reason to believe that Pacquiao could easily change this, even if Bradley is fighting in a higher division for the first time.
This pairing just has history in the making written all over it. We have one of greatest fighters of all time going up against a man who is quickly rising onto the scene, who could make an incredible jump with a potential win—heck even just a solid performance against Pac-Man.
Bradley and Marquez have never fought, so it is difficult to determine how he truly will do against a fighter like Pacquiao in terms of comparison. Bradley carries potential, and he certainly has nothing to really lose going into this fight.
The only other factor that will make this fight bigger than the last is the ongoing speculation of a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight.
Mayweather is coming off of another win over Miguel Cotto, and if Pacquiao once against comes out of this fight with his hand in the air, there is no doubt that people will continue to speculate when these two will finally meet in the ring.
For Pacquiao, and even Mayweather, their ongoing situation will always create a greater hype around their fights between now and if it ever happens.
