Denver Broncos: Top Training Camp Positional Showdowns

The Denver Broncos settled the situation at their most important position (quarterback) with the signing of Peyton Manning.

What other position battles will grab the headlines during camp and the preseason?

No. 1 Wide Receiver

It's clear Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker will be the starters, but which one will become the apple of Manning's eye?

Thomas has the kind of size/speed combination Manning has never had before, but Decker is a sure-handed receiver who runs precise routes.

The winner will have his career put on the star track and shake up fantasy football leagues everywhere.

J.D. Walton wasn't very good last year, so the Broncos went to his college team, Baylor, and drafted his successor, Philip Blake.

Blake could become Walton's successor in the pros, too.

The winner will win the notoriety of being Manning's center, which helped make Jeff Saturday one of the most well-known offensive linemen in the NFL

Running Back

Willis McGahee is the incumbent starter, but the Broncos drafted Ronnie Hillman in the third round this year after they had Manning in the fold.

McGahee's power-back game was well-suited for the Tim Tebow offense, but Hillman's speed, quickness and terrific jump cuts (similar to the ones Joseph Addai employed when he was with Manning) could be a better fit for the stretch play and defenses that are preoccupied with stopping Manning.
