Top 10 Questions Facing the New York Yankees
As we all know, the Yankees are a great team with some of the best talent in the world.
But with great power comes great responsibility, and a lot of questions.
Lets go throw the Yankees and the questions coming in to the 2009 season, and as we all know there are a lot of question. And we want answers! But it looks like we will get them only in the season.
Good luck to the Yankees and let the sideshow begin!!
Will Fans Like the New Yankee Stadium?
I know this is not so impotent, but we need to remember one thing: The Yankees' job is to entertain us, and I as a Yankee fan want a good new ballpark.
I liked the old Yankees stadium, it will always have a special place in my heart. But I think the new Yankees stadium will be better for both the fans and are home team, and I will like it.
But there are fans that are not happy with the move. They feel a big connection to the old Yankees stadium and I can understand that.
But I think most Yankee fans are happy with the new ballpark.
Can the Yankees get Manny?
Would you want Manny?
I would, and I think most baseball fans would.
Manny is one of the best hitters in the game. And yes, I know some times he can be a jerk, but lots of Yankee players are, and that never stooped them.
But Manny just got a $24 million offer from the Dodgers, and they look like the best choice for Manny.
But who know? The evil empire may strike again.
Will the Red Sox and Rays Get Too Good?
The Yankees are a biggest factor in their playoff hopes, but it does not look like it is going to be easy with the teams in the AL East.
The AL wild card will come from the East, but that does not mean that one of the winners is going to be the Yankees. The Red Sox and Rays are both in the race for the two playoff spots that will come out of the division.
And the way the Rays and Red Sox look, this will come down to the end.
Will Joe Girardi Be a Better Manager This Year?
There was a time last year that it locket to me like the Yankees will fire Joe. But it never came, and I was sad it did not.
The Yankees did way better with the other Joe, the Joe that is on the Dodgers. But they drove him out of town and just got worse.
Let's hope are Joe can pick up the slack.
Can A.J. Stay Healthy?
A.J. is one of the best pitchers when healthy, sounds good right? like any other great pitcher.
But A.J. is not any other pitcher, he is a injury risk every time he steps on the mound, and Yankee fan need to be alert of that.
Burnett signed a five-year, $82.5 million contract this offseason. So it looks like that Yankees have faith in him, but they also had Faith in Carl Pavano, and look how that turned out
CC a Good Fit in New York?
CC was great in Milwaukee, he 11–2 with Milwaukee with a 2.70 ERA and 251 strikeouts. But can he do it in New York?
We all know that some great players have come to New York and just stopped hitting, or in are case pitching.
CC is getting from the Yankees $161 million, so if he does not do well, the Yankee fans will kill him.
So let's wish him the best.
Will MLB Get Salary Cap?
Teams are getting angry with the Yankees for getting the top three free agents on the market.
But will the league vote for a salary cap? if yes, the Yankees are in trouble.
If the league votes for a salary cap then the Yankees evil empire days are over, and they will need to find another way to win without baying all the best players in baseball.
A-Rod or A-Fraud?
The three time MVP winner (2003, 2005, 2007) could be the best player in baseball when he is hot.
But you can know with this guy. One year he is a MVP and the next, you don't hear anything about him.
Yes, I know that even in his bad year, he hits over .300 and has more then 30 home runs, but A-Rod get over $25 million for season! He should be the MVP every year.
The guy is a nut; he only cares about No. 1, A-Rod. But that is ok with me if he has a MVP season. We will wait and see.
Will the Players Play Like a Team?
Lots of teams that get lots of great new players Like M-Tex and CC just don't connect as a team, but will the Yankees be any different?
I think so, and I will tell you why...
Derek Jeter.
Jeter is the best team captain in baseball, he has great leadership skills. And I love the way he defended A-Rod today. He can carry a team with the way he talks and shows them that they can win
Go Jeter!!!
Cant the Yankees Bounce Back ?
As we all know, the Yankees had a bad season last year, can that happen again?
We know most team need more then one year to regain momentum
I don't think so, the Yankees look like they will not let it happen again. By getting M-Tex, CC and A.J. they helped there case on being a " team in the race " this year and for years to come.
