2012 USL PRO Power Rankings: Week 7

In this week's USL PRO Power Rankings, a number of teams will be busy with U.S. Open Cup duty, but Orlando City remains the top team in spite of a bye week. Meanwhile, the Harrisburg City Islanders make their move after a statement victory.


1. Orlando City

Adrian Heath's Orlando City were off this past week.

Orlando continue their season on May 24, when they host the Los Angeles Blues at the Florida Citrus Bowl. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.

Orlando will then host the Charlotte Eagles on May 26. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.

 

2. Los Angeles Blues

Charlie Naimo's Los Angeles Blues were off last week.

This week, Los Angeles travel to Orlando, Fla. on May 24 to face Orlando City. Kickoff at the Citrus Bowl is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. PT/7:30 p.m. ET.

A quick turnaround will see the Blues clash with the Charleston Battery at Blackbaud Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for May 26 at 4:30 p.m. PT/7:30 p.m. ET.

 

3. Harrisburg City Islanders

After a scoreless draw with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, Bill Becher's Harrisburg City Islanders were on the upswing this past week, hammering the Dayton Dutch Lions, 4-0. Yann Ekra scored a hat trick in the 14th, 16th and 56th minutes of play. Also scoring for Harrisburg was Morgan Langley in the 42nd minute.

Harrisburg continue their season on May 25, when they host the Rochester Rhinos at the Skyline Sports Complex. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.

 

4. Rochester Rhinos

Jesse Meyer's Rochester Rhinos continued their season with a 1-1 draw against the Dayton Dutch Lions at Sahlen's Stadium. Quavas Kirk equalized off the bench for Rochester in the 74th minute of play.

Rochester have a busy week ahead of them. On May 25, they travel to the Skyline Sports Complex in Harrisburg, Penn. to take on the Harrisburg City Islanders. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.

The Rhinos will then travel to Bellbrook, Ohio and Miami Valley South Stadium to face the Dayton Dutch Lions once again. Kickoff is scheduled for May 26 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

 

5. Richmond Kickers

Leigh Cowlishaw's Richmond Kickers were consigned to a 1-1 draw with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds at Chartiers Valley High School in Bridgeville, Penn. Matthew Delicate equalized for the Kickers in the 71st minute of play.

The Kickers continue their season on May 26, when they host the Wilmington Hammerheads at City Stadium in Richmond, Va. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

 

6. Wilmington Hammerheads

David Irving's Wilmington Hammerheads players to a 1-1 draw against the Charlotte Eagles last weekend at Legion Stadium in Wilmington, Del.

Hagop Chirishian equalized for the Hammers in the 75th minute of play.

This weekend, Wilmington travel to Richmond to face the Kickers at City Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for May 26 at 7 p.m. ET.

 

7. Charleston Battery

Michael Anheuser's Charleston Battery were off this past week. Their next match is on May 26 against the Los Angeles Blues at Blackbaud Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.

 

8. Charlotte Eagles

Mark Steffens's Charlotte Eagles could not hold on to their lead and were consigned to a 1-1 draw with the Wilmington Hammerheads. Darryl Roberts scored for Charlotte in the 57th minute of play.

Charlotte's next match is on May 26, when they travel to Orlando to take on Orlando City. Kickoff at the Citrus Bowl is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.

 

9. Pittsburgh Riverhounds

Justin Evans' Pittsburgh Riverhounds had a couple of contests this past week. Against the Harrisburg City Islanders, they were consigned to a scoreless draw. On Friday, they had another draw, 1-1 with the Richmond Kickers. Dawyne "Ricky" Smith scored for Pittsburgh in the 45th minute of play.

Up next for the Hounds is a match with the Charleston Battery on May 31 at Chartiers Valley High School. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

10. Dayton Dutch Lions

Ivar van Dinteren's Dayton Dutch Lions had a couple of matches this past week. On Friday, they drew 1-1 with the Rochester Rhinos. Gibson Bardsley scored in the 28th minute for Dayton. However, they were hammered in their next match on Saturday, 4-0, to the Harrisburg City Islanders.

Dayton continue their season on May 26 against the Rochester Rhinos. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.

 

11. Antigua Barracuda

Tom Curtis' Antigua Barracuda FC were off this past week.

The Barracudas' next contest is a June 15 meeting with the Charleston Battery at Blackbaud Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
