EA Sports has been the benchmark in quality for video games for quite some time, so it's no surprise that they went large when celebrating their gaming series challenge. Fans from 12 different countries showed up to compete and play 3 of the most popular video games ever played.
Besides the competition, fans were treated to performances by Jadakiss, and Just Blaze, as well as a Playstation Interactive Gaming area, and a preview of EA Sports UEFA Euro expansion pack for FIFA 2012. BR5's Desi Sanchez also learned that Jadakiss is a gamer himself, who's gaming partners include the NY Knicks' Carmelo Anthony.
Co-founder and President of Virgin Gaming Bill Levy summed up the exciting day best saying, "Our vision was to make competitive gaming more accessible and fun than ever before. Giving players the tools to win big cash prizes from their couch is what we're all about.
This tournament built on that foundation with a live celebration that gave our community the opportunity to showcase their skills, meet online friends and rivals in person and win big cash prizes. We have just scratched the surface with our live events and look forward to delivering many more one-of-a-kind competitive gaming experiences that everyone can enjoy, be it from home or in a live venue.”
