Berto vs. Ortiz II: Andre Berto Tests Positive for Norandrosterone Steroid

Yes, you have not misread the headline of this article. According to, Andre Berto has tested positive for the steroid norandrosterone.

"I know he tested positive. I learned it in the last half hour," DiBella said. "I have nothing else to say. I don't know all of the details, so I have nothing else to say," stated Berto’s promoter Lou DiBella.

According to the information received, Berto tested positive on both parts of the random drug test.

While there has been no response from Berto's camp as of yet, I think it's safe to assume no matter what the facts are, Berto's team is now in repair and damage-control mode, thinking about how they can deflate the situation as much as possible.

I can only imagine what we are about to hear from Victor Ortiz on this news, as he might very well end up without an opponent for the schedule June bout, and ultimately without pay due to the breaking news.

Like Floyd Mayweather Jr. has warned us numerous times, this sport is dirty, and there is only one way to clean it up: more vigorous testing.
