Jamie Langenbrunner: The Best Player of 2009

JerseySenior Analyst IFebruary 2, 2009

Jamie Langenbrunner was last week's First Star of the week in the NHL. After scoring two goals in three consecutive games (including the game-winner in each of the three, the last two in overtime), I don't think it's at all surprising that he got the honor.

But Langenbrunner was also named First Star of the month for January. And well, January is the only month we've fully experienced in 2009. So I guess Langenbrunner has been, so far, the First Star for the year 2009.

Nicely done, Captain Jamie!

(For the record, Langenbrunner is the first player in team history to notch two straight overtime winners, and is just the third Devil to score two goals in three straight, joining Patrik Elias and Alexander Mogilny.)
