I watched Arsenal systematically take apart Milan last evening and there is nothing the current player of the year could do about it.  In fact, I would go so far as saying that the majority of the Arsenal midfield were as good if not better than Kaka.

Fabergas played minstral while Flamini did the dirty work, winning back the ball in the odd occasion it was lost. Hleb added a creative spark and although he didn't do much, he was always a threat.

The game started fast-paced and finished that way. Arsenal dominated the first half but were unlucky not to score a couple of times, with Fabergas's effort off the bar probably the best opportunity.

The second half started just the same as the first with Arsenal dominating in possession.  Although Milan had a couple of half chances (the young brazilian Pato looks like he will become a good player) it appeared the youth and pace of Arsenal were proving too much.

The break came late in the game when Fabergas struck a dipping shot from about 23 yards out.  Looking at it from the keeper's view (which was blocked by two defenders and adebayor), there was no chance of making a save.

The second goal was set up through a long ball to Walcott who is possibly the fastest player in the premier league (I would like to see the match up with C. Ronaldo).  Walcott skipped past an ageing and tiring defense and layed the ball square across goal mouth to Adebayor, who slotted it home.

Arsenal deserved the victory, the first for an English team at the San Siro.  Watching them play, it would be hard not to think they will make it to the final, unless they draw Manchester United (who also won on the night despite a lackluster performance).

Thanks Thomas. Spot on, but as we all know, there was only one way anyone could see the game. Well done Arsenal.
