Amid recent reports that Manchester United have already secured the signature of Shinji Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund, Robert Lewandowski looks set to snub a new contract with the German outfit in favour of United, reported Metro.

Despite Dortmund's recent success, a number of star players have failed to agree a new contract.

Maik Barthel, the forward's agent, was quoted:

I can confirm that the new contract offer of Borussia Dortmund is insufficient. I am also able to confirm an interest of Manchester United in the services of Robert Lewandowski.

Now, Lewandowski could be following in the footsteps of his former teammate Sahin, who left the club after enjoying an extraordinary season in Bundesliga.

Sir Alex was in the stands during the German Cup final match between Dortmund and Bayern Munich scouting for a possible double swoop that would include both Kagawa and Lewandowski moving to the Premier League. As always, the attacking duo was superb, helping their team to a 5-2 win.

Lewandowski enjoyed his best season so far scoring 30 goals in 46 matches for the club.

However, United will have to break the bank for the young attacking duo as they probably won't cost less than €30 million.
