With future Hall of Fame closer Mariano Rivera on the shelf for the entire 2012 season, the New York Yankees have decided to employ a tandem of Rafael Soriano and David Robertson to close in his absence.

However, Rivera isn’t getting any younger, and both Soriano and Robertson may ultimately be too expensive to retain a few years down the road.  So, do the Yankees have any pitching prospects in their farm system who profile as future closers?

The answer is yes. In fact, depending on their development, they may have several options in Dellin Betances, Chase Whitley and Mark Montgomery.

But of the three, which prospect has the most potential to be the Yankees’ next great closer?
