Landon Milbourne scored a team high 17 points and had 6 rebounds, while Greivis Vasquez nearly had a triple double (11 PTS, 10 RBS, 9 AST), as the Maryland Terrapins defeated visiting Miami, 73-68, at the Comcast Center on Saturday night.

The Terps avenged an early loss to Miami and raised their record to 14-7 overall and 3-4 in ACC play. A balanced effort was the key for Maryland, as all eight Terps that played scored by the end of the first half. Milbourne and Vasquez got help from teammates Dave Neal (11 PTS), Adrian Bowie (9 PTS), and Sean Mosley (8 PTS). Mosley also had an outstanding game defensively.

Miami fell to 14-7 and 3-5 in the ACC. Jack McClinton scored 18, James Dews had 13, while Lance Hurdle added eight, and Brian Asbury added seven

This was a much needed win for the Gary Williams and the Terps. Maryland had struggled the last couple of games and things were not going to get any easier with North Carolina up next Tuesday.

The Terps led 27-24 at intermission, and went on to outscore the Hurricanes, 46-44, in the second half. The Terps continued their great shooting from the free throw line, going 14-17 (86.7 percent). I think the key to the game was the Terps shooting 50 percent from the field in the second half.
