Along the way, we found time to chat about the NFL Network's Top 100 Players list, which is becoming somewhat of an annual annoyance or enjoyment, depending on whom you're talking to.
But the real treat this week was getting to speak with John J. Miller, author of The Big Scrum: How Teddy Roosevelt Saved Football. Miller talked to us about how the book came about and some of the parallels he sees between a time when football was on the verge of extinction and today's NFL.
It's an extraordinary book that's a great jumping-off point for some intelligent conversation about this game we all love so much.
