ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter just tweeted news that the Arizona Cardinals have resigned DE Calais Campbell to a new contract.

The 25-year-old Campbell had a career year last season with 72 tackles and 8 sacks, and is a key cog to the Arizona defense. Campbell had been tagged with the team's franchise tag at a $10.605 million price tag, which should now be lowered under his new deal.

Terms of the deal have not been released yet but the contract should be in the range of teammate Darnell Dockett's deal of six years and $56 million.

This is a huge move in securing the talents of a young stud on the defensive line, and a deal that has been in the works for quite some time now.
