Los Angeles Galaxy vs. Montreal Impact: Strike Quickly and Often, Says LA
Bruce Arena’s Los Angeles Galaxy will need to go on the attack immediately against Jesse Marsch’s Montreal Impact today at Stade Olympique in Montreal, Quebec, Canada (kickoff: 1 p.m. PT/4 p.m. ET).
“Scoring first will help a lot,” LA captain Landon Donovan told Luis Bueno of MLSSoccer.com. “In all these games when you get scored on first, it becomes very difficult no matter what time of the game it is and we can’t keep letting that happen.”
Los Angeles are currently 3-5-1 (10 points) and linger at the bottom of the MLS Western Conference. A win today will put them out of the cellar and back in the hunt for the postseason.
For midfielder Mike Magee, it’s a reunion with an old friend in Marsch.
“He always played with 100 percent effort and heart,” Magee said of Marsch to LAGalaxy.com's Larry Morgan. “He played every play like it was his last. I’m sure he’s implementing the same things with his players.”
