Los Angeles Galaxy vs. Montreal Impact: Toronto Loss Allows Impact to Focus
For Jesse Marsch’s Montreal Impact, it was tough pill to swallow after losing 2-0 to Toronto FC on Wednesday in the Amway Canadian Championship. However, this meant that the Impact could focus on the Major League Soccer calendar, and their next opponent, the Los Angeles Galaxy (kickoff: May 12, 1 p.m. PT/4 p.m. ET, KDOC and KWHY).
“It stinks that we’re out of this tournament, but we have another big game around the corner and we don’t have time to dwell on the loss,” Marsch told Pat Hickey of the Montreal Gazette. “We could probably use another day to help us all recover physically, but the group has shown they can recover from tough moments.”
David Beckham’s presence means the match is expected to result in a large turnout.
“He’s a world-class talent, you see it in his track record,” defender Shavar Thomas said. “The challenge is to better ourselves as the season goes on. The Galaxy is the next hurdle in our path and we want to clear this one.”
