WrestleMania XXIX is just under a year away, and already there has been talk of what the possible main event will be.
With Brock Lesnar back in the pro wrestling picture, many expect to see Lesnar reprise his 2002 feud with the Rock that lead to him capturing his first WWE Championship of his career.
Rock-Brock definitely makes sense from a box office standpoint, but does it make sense for the WWE’s long-term business?
As top stars grow closer to retirement with each bump, the time could be now to invest in tomorrow’s WWE stars. Having two relative outsiders headline the biggest show of the year may be defeating that purpose.
By the same token, a WrestleMania headlined by big names could provide more eyeballs for said stars of the future, leading to more fans sticking around to see the WWE’s young, bright future perform.
Watch Bleacher Report’s WWE columnists Alfred “Big Nasty” Konuwa and Justin LaBar spar it out as they discuss whether or not Brock Lesnar vs. the Rock at WrestleMania XXIX makes sense.
