Ice Girls in the NHL is a relatively new accommodation for fans in most arenas across the United States and Canada.
If you are lucky enough to have a squad on your hometown team, it's one of the great reasons to go to the game rather than watch on TV and listen to the same old announcers over and over again.
With the Stanley Cup Finals just around the corner, three of the contenders field very hot ice crews.
Find out where they rank, and where the rest of the NHL ranks in a review of the best ice girl crews in the league!
After getting out of the old Mellon Arena the Penguins are starting to build up their ice crew and are doing a fine job in the process.
In a city where football is king, the Steelers have not had a cheerleading squad since 1970.
So be it. The Pens are happy to fill that void.
Being the only Canadian team with a legitimate squad is tough.
Canada has produced some of America's most beloved television talents such as Sarah Chalke, Pamela Anderson, Cobie Smulders, and Elisha Cuthbert to name a few at random.
We know you're holding out on us Canada, and it's not fair.
The uniforms of my hometown team's ice girls has always confused me.
Long sleeve shirts with long pants makes for one of the most boring outfits I've seen.
The girls can usually be seen in the concourse, or shooting Chipotle burritos at people in the stands.
I really hope Washington management takes a page, and only this page from the Washington Redskins: get creative with the uniforms!
With superstar Rick Nash inevitably on his way out of Columbus, the fans will need something to lure them into seats.
Luckily there's nearby Ohio State University to keep a good pipeline of cheerleading in the Blue Jackets' future.
The Flyers' girls are another squad that seems to be more involved than most of their counterparts in other cities.
Philadelphia is famous for booing anybody and everybody in any sporting venue. It's hard to imagine booing these girls.
The Coyotes are apparently staying in Phoenix.
That's great news because Phoenix has one of the biggest and best ice girl crews in the league.
They are really a site to behold during Phoenix's white-out home playoff games.
The pictures don't really do them justice.
The Hurricane girls are stunning in person and are among my personal favorites.
Being right in the middle of North Carolina, the Hurricanes are able to pull talent from all the surrounding universities: NC State, UNC, and Duke.
The Devils girls have some of the best uniforms the league has to offer. The red and black color combination is sexy and eye-catching.
Definitely one of the sharpest crews in the league.
One of the better squads the NHL has to offer, is also ten times better than anyone the Midwest or North has to offer, if they even offer them at all.
Chicago is huge, so it's only natural they get their pick of the litter from what the Windy City has to offer.
Nashville is full of southern belles, so this shouldn't surprise anyone.
Music City is like Los Angeles in a sense where the best flock to make it big, except in this case, it's usually the country scene.
Like California and Texas, Tampa Bay benefits from being a largely populated southern state with plenty of great applicants for their ice crew.
Tampa's girls accurately reflect the feeling you get in Tampa, going to a hockey game in shorts and a T-shirt in February.
Los Angeles' other team.
The recruiting class from the suburbs might not be as elite as it is in the big city, but it's still pretty good, and among the best in the league.
Representing the entire Northeast section of America, Boston's ice girls are always going to be at the top of the list.
A great winning franchise with a great group of girls. It doesn't get much better than that.
The Islanders don't have much to look forward to in terms of actual hockey, so it's a good thing that the Isles have these girls around.
You'd think the New York Rangers would have a monopoly in this area, but luckily for the bad New York team the Blueshirts aren't interested in such shenanigans.
We've all seen the pictures of Craig Anderson ogling and undressing the Panthers' ice girls with his eyes, so I figured this photo would be more akin to viewers' liking.
When you've got a team so close to South Beach there's going to be tons of talent around.
While the Miami Dolphins might have a stranglehold on getting the top cheerleaders around Miami, the hockey club's crew is among the best in the league.
Like the world famous Cowboys cheerleading squad, Dallas has tons of beautiful girls from all over the great state of Texas.
Despite the Stars being a involved in a sport that hasn't been traditionally very popular in Texas, the Stars always draw a huge crowd and have a great following. In recent years the Stars have hit some rough times, but their ice crew should be able to pick up the slack until they get back on track.
The Stars' crew is involved with more extra curricular activities off the ice than any other franchise's crew I've seen.
The most beautiful women in the country seem to flock to Hollywood to chase dreams of stardom and making it big on screen, so it's no wonder that Los Angeles has the best ice crew in the NHL.
Bottom line, Canada needs to catch up with the program.
The Atlanta Thrashers girls, pictured above, would have easily made the top five of this list had Winnipeg not scrapped them.
Winnipeg sold out the vast majority of their season tickets in a matter of minutes, would it be so much to ask to bring some more excitement to a team that is still a ways away from reaching the playoffs?
Hope you enjoyed the show!
