Dave's College Basketball Picks, Jan. 31: Wisconsin at Northwestern

Wisconsin (12-8, 3-5) at Northwestern (11-7, 3-5)

Line: Wisconsin -1.5

Down by 6 at half, the Badgers rode good three point shooting to nearly come back and knock off Purdue. Though shooting 61.1 percent from the three point line, the Badgers managed just 43.1 percent overall from the floor in the 63-64 defeat at the Kohl Center.

Losers of five straight, the Badgers last tasted victory way back on January 7th when they handed a 29 point thumping to Northwestern. Since that game however, the teams have gone in opposite directions.

Northwestern has won three of their last four including a narrow 77-75 home victory against Indiana on Wednesday. Northwestern was hot from three point land hitting 12 of 23 shots, but allowed Indiana to do the exact same.

It is almost a certainty that the Wildcats will play better than they did at the Kohl Center. Not hard to improve on 31.4 percent shooting including 3 for 17 from behind the arch.

Wisconsin is 7-10-1 ATS including 3-3-1 on the road

Northwestern is 8-7 ATS including 5-3 at home

Northwestern is 6-4 ATS against Wisconsin in their last 10 match ups

Although Wisconsin has played fairly well on the road this year, they are just 1-3 straight up in conference and obviously struggling. Northwestern is playing good ball right now and I think handles Wisconsin easily in this one. Wrong team favored.

Dave’s Pick: Northwestern +1.5
