There is a lot of optimism heading into the 2012 season for the Auburn Tigers. Sure, they return the majority of last year's team, but at the same time, they were a very streaky team throughout the year.
Does Auburn take that next step towards accomplishing its goals, or does it still need another year or two?
If the spring game is any indication, there's a great chance this team will accomplish big things this year.
Now that the spring is over, here is the latest Auburn Tigers news and updates as we get closer to the 2012 season.
Auburn has one of the more interesting quarterback battles in the country, as three players have an equal opportunity to land the job (Kiehl Frazier, Clint Moseley and true-freshman Zeke Pike). This battle should be interesting as we inch closer to the regular season showdown against the Clemson Tigers.
Despite coming off a very solid 8-5 season and returning the majority of last year's squad, the Tigers aren't ranked in the new ESPN preseason poll. Now of course these aren't the actual preseason college football rankings that will be released when we get closer to the season, but that has to be somewhat disappointing for the Auburn community.
