Jayhawks Pull Off Heartstopper in Lincoln

If you don't already own a tivo (or other DVR device) it's time to get one.

The defending national champions and the scrappy Cornhuskers put on the kind of show tonight that deserves to be watched commercial free.

At the half it appeared the Cornhuskers were turning the table on their hated Big 12 rivals, jumping out to a 13 point lead and dominating the game in every way possible.

Kansas managed to make a beautiful hustle play to end the half and bring the lead down to five (29 - 34). It was a sign of things to come as momentum gradually shifted their way in the second half.

Bill Self's Jayhawks have been known for stellar defense and the second half was no exception as the Huskers were held scoreless for seven and a half minutes, enough time for Kansas to take their first lead of the night.

The rest of the game was tit for tat until Kansas began to pull away in the late minutes.

While there is obviously work to be done on this young Jayhawk team, KU fans should feel good about tonight's performance as Kansas simply outlasted the Cornhuskers to continue their perfect 5-0 season in the big 12.

Final Score: KU 68 NE 62
