Philadelphia 76ers vs. Chicago Bulls: Live Analysis, Highlights and Reaction

Follow live as Bulls battle the 76ers without Derrick Rose.
The carnage...erp game is over. Sixers win 109-92 with a third quarter dismantling of the Bulls. It was a tough game to watch, but not as tough to watch as Rose's knee injury.
We'll be heading to Philadelphia 1-1. Collins will have good things to say in the locker room. Thibs won't. Other than that the Clockwork Orange post more or less sums up the game.
If you're a Bulls fan, take consolation in this. At least it's over.
Exactly.

This becoming the Clockwork Orange of Live Game Blogs. I ca't turn it off. I have to keep watching in spite of the horrors that are constantly streaming before my eyes. There's no kind way to put this. Doug Collins isn't going to have to buy the Sixers a steak dinner tonight because they're eating one right now. They're obliterating the Bulls in the second half, 52-23.
They've dominate every facet of the game. Chicago has to work for every shot, and they're missing most of them. Meanwhile the Harlem Globetrotters never made the Washington Generals look this bad on defense. The Sxiers are hitting every shot.
And to rub salt in the proverbial wounds? Evan Turner is going off. If you're a Sixers fan, you're feeling very good right now. If you're a Bulls fan., you're not.
The biggest concern I had was if Chicago collapsed. And they did. 95-74 Philadelphia.
Bulls put together a TINY four point run. But that's how the Clippers turned it around, a little bit at a time. 91-74 Phily.
The Bulls can't even score on free throws now. Brewer misses a pair form the stripe. Right now Sixers can't miss either. Up 87-69. Wining second half 40-15. Even Korver is missing free throws.
The fourth quarter starts the way the third quarter went. Chicago missed, and Phily didn't. 85-69 Sixers. Now Chicago is struggling to even get a shot. There's not rhythm for the bulls at all right now. Thibs might use "French" in the locker room.
Collins will buy everyone a steak.
Iggy's slam on Deng.

Sxiers are now up 36-14 in the quarter. I'm not sure what the most points the Bulls have given up in a quarter this year is, but I'm pretty sure that's close. This is a combination of both Philly executing and Chicago not executing. The United Center is stone silent. Philadelphia 83-69 to end the quarter on two more missed Bulls shots.
The Bulls are just NOT getting back on defense right now and the Sixers are taking advantage of it. They're instantly down to the other end of the court and converting. They're up 23-8 on fastbreak points right now.
Turner is suddenly going nuts, scoring, passing, finishing, shooting. Sixers running all over the court and Chicago can't keep up . Sixers up nine and at the lie. They're winning the quarter 30-13. Chicago has to be careful to not collapse, because with their state of mine a collapse could last into next game, and they might not play Boston or Atlanta.
Turner makes the UC groan with a nice shot with Rip in his face. Rip gives him an extra shot too, which he makes. 72-66 Phily.
Wow! First a HORRENDOUS shot that goes off the side of the board, and then Holiday gives it up to Iggy, who finishes at the rim with Deng riding him like a bull (pun intended).
And Watson ends the run, 68-63 Sixers.
I think Joakim got away with overt he back there.
This is the part of the game where Derrick "The Run Stopper" Rose usually would take over. They are missing him right now.
Sixers up five, 66-61. Philadelphia on a 17-4 run.
Sixers keep chomping away at the lead and it's now a one point game and the Sixers have the ball. Chicago is really not getting any offense this quarter. Phily has them disoriented.
Then Brand gives them a one point lead. And then Turner gives them a three point lead. I can't type as fast as they can score. PHI 64-61.
The best effective field goal percentage for a player in the last 25 years in the postseason with at least 10 attempts belongs to Kyle Korver in his Utah days. He was 9-10 with five threes for an eFG% of 1.15.
Holiday hits a three to cut the Bulls lead in half, 57-54. He now has 22 points, a career playoff high on an insane, 9-10 shooting , including three from deep. His eFG% on the game is 1.050. That just looks weird.
Second half is underway with Holiday and Deng matching buckets.. 57-49 Bulls.

Lucas and Watson have more or less duplicated Rose's offensive output, 16 points and four dimes, but defensively they're not even slowing down Williams and Holiday, who have 22 points ad five assists. Those who say the Bulls won't miss Rose on defense (I'm talking to YOU Colin Cowherd) clearly don't watch the Bulls.
Here's the Noah ankle-breaking move on Young here.
How did Lucas make that shot? That was just ludicrous! Bulls head into the half up eight, 55-47.
I have been asked to include scores in the analysis. Happy to oblige.
Joakim Noah is suddenly looking like a 7 foot version of LeBron James. (OK, maybe not QUITE there yet). H'es got 14 points, five boards and three dimes so far.
