75 minutes have passed between the Los Angeles Galaxy and Seattle Sounders, and it’s the home side on the cusp of something historic as they lead 2-0 at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Wash.
Mike Magee’s cold shooting streak continued with a miss in the 63rd minute of play. In the 65th minute, a Landon Donovan corner was cleared and had to fend off a counterattack from Seattle’s Mauro Rosales. Eddie Johnson was hoping to get a brace in the 66th minute of play but was held up by David Junior Lopes.
Sean Franklin was hoping for some space in the 67th minute of play but was held up by Osvaldo Alonso, who recovered from the knock he suffered in the 25th minute. A vain attempt from Bryan Gaul in the 67th minute was collected by Sounders backup goalkeeper Bryan Meredith. Marcelo Sarvas tried his luck in the 69th minute but missed wide right.
For the Sounders, they are within touching distance and can sit on the advantage if they so wish. As for Los Angeles, time is running out to salvage a result and they need to hurry.
