WWE Extreme Rules Aftermath: Does Lesnar Losing to Cena Make Sense?!
Brock Lesnar is truly a physical, dominating, unstoppable force of a specimen.
Lesnar made a stunning return to the WWE after wrestling’s biggest event of the year, Wrestle-Mania 28.
Fans have been waiting for a moment like this, and Brock Lesnar delivered as the crowd went nuts.
Lesnar is back in the WWE for one reason, and one reason only—himself.
This means anyone who gets in Brock Lesnar’s way will be destroyed, crushed, simply annihilated…so why did John “Super” Cena beat him last night at Extreme Rules?
You have to instantly wonder if WWE is trying their hardest to get the older audience to respect John Cena.
You have to admit that John Cena has been stepping up to the plate lately and has been putting on epic matches with superstars like CM Punk, The Rock, and as of last night, Brock Lesnar.
But still, things remain the same for Cena when it comes to the older audience's lack of respect for him as a competitor.
Or maybe the older audience does respect him, but they just like to give him a hard time, which makes sense; we see this guy every night on Raw basically headlining the show.
Fans want change, and when WWE states, “It’s time to shake things up again” and does not deliver, it becomes irritating.
Did Lesnar losing to Cena make sense?
John Cena has been put through a burner lately and has been tested by the competitors he has faced. But fans want to see more of an edgy side from Cena, and what better way to unleash that “ruthless aggression” by going up against the deadly Brock Lesnar?
It was looking like this new, aggressive, ruthless side of Cena was beginning to come out, but WWE has still yet to pull the trigger. Instead, WWE made John Cena look like he was shook, scared of the dominant Lesnar.
Lesnar looked like he was going to pull out a dominant win over John Cena last night to escalate his return to an even higher level and gain even more momentum…but nope, “Super” Cena prevails once again, beating the returning Brock Lesnar.
This must mean the Cena vs. Lesnar feud is not done just yet, as Cena has gained the upper hand over Lesnar.
But numerous reports have indicated, and even John Cena stated via his Twitter, that he sustained an injury last night due to the matchup with Brock Lesnar, which has caused speculation that Cena will be taking a much-needed break from in-ring action.
If this is the case, then it would have made much more sense to have Lesnar win and give the idea that he put Cena on the shelf.
This could have led to Lesnar going on to another feud, earning even more hype from the new audience who has yet to fully understand who this guy is.
Then eventually Cena would return to set up a highly-anticipated rematch.
As time goes on, Lesnar captures the WWE title, setting a dark shadow over the WWE Universe as all challengers look to stop the force of Brock Lesnar.
But, maybe we all are getting ahead of ourselves and maybe WWE has something major planed.
We as fans should hope so, because with Lesnar losing last night, it makes his plan to take over Monday Night Raw look pointless and foolish.
We will all have to wait and see what WWE has in store for tonight; let’s expect the unexpected!
