College Basketball 1/28/09: Mitch Picks Missouri at Kansas State

Missouri (17-3) at Kansas St. (12-7)

The Line: Kansas State +4 1/2

Where have you gone Michael Beasley? While we all of course know Beasley has taken his act and his superlative scoring game to the NBA, the Wildcat fans might wish he stuck around at KSU just a little bit longer. K-State finally got a win in their last Big 12 match up at Colorado though it took them an extra period to get there.

Missouri, on the other hand, has been hot, winning its last four and eight of its last nine overall. While things seem to be going well for the Tigers, they historically haven't had much success against the Wildcats.

While neither team's strength of schedule is going to wow anyone, Mizzou is 7-6 against the spread while Kansas State is just 3-8-1 against the number. All of the trends in this series favor a KSU cover as K-State has covered six of the last eight times these two have met, four times in a row in this series at home, and the home team has covered five of the last six times in the series. As far as individual team trends, something has to give as Missouri is 0-5 against the spread in their last five as a road favorite and KSU is 0-4 against the spread in their last four as an underdog.
