Despite the fact that the 2012 NFL draft has concluded, experts and fans will continue to offer their unsolicited opinions of how certain teams fared with their haul of fresh talent until they will either be deemed right or wrong based on the on-field results.
While it will be easy to navigate the web to obtain the outlooks of those that get paid to throw around their speculative muscle, the only audience that fans have to share their takes are friends or their followers through social media.
The outlook from fans on how the Kansas City Chiefs attacked the draft this year has had a wide range of results, but one theme rings true in that only time will tell on how things will eventually shake out for the Chiefs' 2012 draft class.
Here is a recap of the Chiefs' selections before giving fan reactions from Twitter:
1st round: Dontari Poe,defensive tackle
2nd round: Jeff Allen, offensive tackle
3rd round: Donald Stephenson, offensive tackle
4th round:Devon Wylie, wide receiver
5th round:DeQuan Menzie, cornerback
6th round:Cyrus Gray, runningback
7th round:Jerome Long, defensive tackle
7th round: Junior Hemingway, wide receiver
"Very underwhelming. Could've traded down & still taken Poe & got more picks. We get a tackle that we wanna move to guard. Head scratchers."
"Finally came around on Poe. Love the 2 OL, especially Stephenson. Next 3, solid depth, w/potential. Long = project & Hemingway could surprise."
"I liked the way they addressed positions of need and depth but I'm not a big Poe fan as I feel he's a rather large gamble."
"I liked what they did in the later rounds. Love the Junior Hemingway pick!! How he dropped to KC is beyond me!!"
"Poe was beast at combine but hasn't shown it not even 1st team in conf. Huge risk/reward beyond that angry a QB wasn't taken at all C- draft"
As you can see, Poe is going to be a hot topic all season long in Kansas City. It will also be interesting to see if the rest of the Chiefs' picks will offer steady contribution or serve as a depth on a roster that has its starters pretty much in place.
