WWE Extreme Rules: Sheamus and Daniel Bryan Both Try to Win... Twice
Meatloaf would be proud of this match for the World Heavyweight Championship. Not only would the rock legend say that "two out of three ain't bad" but two out of three will give either Sheamus or Daniel Bryan the World Heavyweight Championship.
Sheamus went into Extreme Rules last year as a champion, but lost that United States Championship to Kofi Kingston. Sheamus hopes to not have history repeat itself, coming into the event as a champion for the second straight year. As for Bryan, he returns to Chicago, the site of winning the Money in the Bank briefcase that inserted him into the main event scene to begin with.
Each man needs two victories over the other to walk away with the championship. Bryan seems to have the advantage as the challenger, especially given that Bryan locked the Yes Lock on Sheamus earlier this week. Add in Sheamus and his temper that could quickly lead to a disqualification and The Great White really needs to keep his cool in this match. Bryan will have a hard time getting a pinfall on Sheamus so those are his two chances at a fall in this match.
As for the champion, he needs to combat both his Irish temper and his foe in Bryan. Two pinfalls, especially gaining one at WrestleMania in just 18 seconds, is attainable for the champion. I think Sheamus finds a way to hold onto the title. It's hard to bet against Sheamus, who has lost so rarely in the last few months. Rarely do these matches not go the distance, so expect a fall in favor of Bryan, but two falls and the victory for Sheamus.
My Pick: Sheamus
