It now seems that Arsenal have at least an 85 percent chance of adding talented Russian Andrei Arshavin to their youthful squad.

The Zenit midfielder, who has expressed great interest in joining Arsenal, looks set to join the Gunners by the start of February. The Russian is no doubt extremely talented and versatile. He will bring great depth and experience to the Arsenal squad, and he will fit into Cesc Fabregas or Theo Walcott's role perfectly.

But the Russian has his cons for this current season. Arshavin is unable to play in Arsenal's champions league campaign. The Champions League is a must win for Arsenal and it is important that they maintain consistency. Without Arshavin Arsenal will lack some midfield experience.

The Russian will also have to adapt to the physicality of the English game. By the time the Russian plays his first game there will be fourteen games remaining in the season. You would expect at least three to seven games for the Russian to adapt.

Arshavin will certainly bring alot to the Gunners squad as he is a terrific player. His incisive passing and crosses will be a huge threat as will his pace and balance. Plus at 27 he will be one of the oldest players at Arsenal.

Time will tell what happens to Arshavin, but for now Arsenal need to worry about beating Everton, then Tottenham.
