Is MLS a Good League For Professionals?

The One You FearCorrespondent IJanuary 28, 2009

So, I've been thinking, is MLS league good place for professional soccer players?

I mean there are a lot of great soccer players, like David Beckham who is playing for LA Galaxy (although he is currently on loan at AC Milan) or Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo.

There are some rumors going on that some MLS team wants to sign Cristiano Ronaldo when his contract ends with Manchester United.

But I don't think that will happen, because first there are a lot of European teams that want to sign someone of Ronaldo's class. Secondly, I know that there is a European team that would give all their money—to the last penny—to sign David Beckham or Cristiano Ronaldo.

For instance, look at A.C. Milan, they signed Ronaldinho not too long ago and now they want to sign David Beckham. What's next? Maybe as I said when Ronaldo's contract will be over they would want to sign him too.

My point is...that there are a lot of great talented soccer players, but if MLS tries to bring them to this league then it wouldn't be that good. And you ask why?

Well, because as I said MLS is not a really good league for pro soccer players. It's an American league ( I don't hate America) and as you know soccer isn't that popular in America, so there aren't that many good soccer players in America.

I mean that if you compare to European soccer players, and Europe's main sport is soccer.

So I think that MLS isn't a good league for pro soccer players.
