The Browns were sitting at pick No. 4, so the apparent reason to move up one spot was to deter the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (or another team) from trading up with the Vikings to draft Trent Richardson. The Browns gave up the No. 4 pick as well as their picks from the fourth, fifth and seventh rounds, according to Schefter.

This works out perfectly for the Vikings, as they were likely deciding between Morris Claiborne and Matt Kalil, both of whom should still be available.
