Quinton Coples to New York Jets: Rex Ryan's Relentless Rush Is Back

Rex Ryan finally gets his pass-rushing machine.

With the 16^th pick of the 2012 NFL Draft, the New York Jets selected Quinton Coples out of North Carolina.

Instant Reaction: Wow….wow.

Analysis: I didn’t see the Jets passing on Melvin Ingram. The hybrid out of SC was a perfect fit for Ryan’s defense. But apparently NY liked Coples more.

Now, while Coples is a riskier selection, he does have a higher upside. With the Jets strong locker room, I’m not going to fault them for wanting to roll the dice.

New York’s defense is on its way to being a force again.
