Kansas City didn’t have a choice.

With the 11th pick of the 2012 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs selected Dontari Poe out of Memphis.

Instant Reaction: Why not add a 350-pound monster to stick in Peyton Manning’s face?

Analysis: Kansas City had a need at nose tackle. Nose tackle is the most important position in a 3-4 defense and at the same time, it’s the rarest. When a 350-pound prospect with sub-5.0 speed comes around, it’s impossible to pass under the given circumstances.

If he fulfills the entirety of his potential, Poe will transform the Chiefs defense into an unstoppable force.
