Alexandre Song or Mikeal Silvestre for Micah Richards Plus Seven Million?

Callum D'SouzaSenior Writer IJanuary 27, 2009

He was an Arsenal fan as a boy and has stated that one day he would play for Arsenal. Well here is Micah Richards' chance to fulfil his childhood dream.

The immensely talented center half who does struggle for consistency, is high on Arsene Wenger's list and would fit in nicely to the youthful Arsenal squad.

The 20 year old Manchester City defender could be the answer to Arsenals center half crisis. With William Gallas and Kolo Toures futures under concern Richards would prove incredibly useful at a time like this for the Gunners. With Phillipe Senderos, Johan Djourou, and Harvard Nodviet are likely to be the center halves for next year which means Richards would slot in perfectly as the lead center half.

Richards is said to be worth around about 10 million which knowing Arsenal is a bit to much. Especially as the Arsharvin deal looks set to go through. Arsenal could offer Manchster City seven million plus either Alexandre Song or Mikeal Silvestre.

Both have had their moments this season but both have suffered from injury and lack of consistency. Both are not players Manchester City want but they could prove useful and no doubt sweeten the deal.

Richards has said he is happy at City but if enough is offered and Richards find he is not receiving the playing time he needs. The deal may just go through.
