With MMA's biggest fight of the year between Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen being moved to UFC 148 in Las Vegas, MMA fans will get ready to see one of the organization's most stacked cards since UFC 100 (via Yahoo Sports).
A pre-fight press conference for the event was held in Brazil earlier today with both Sonnen and Silva, but only them. It was only speculation until today that the fight would be moved from UFC 147, which is expected to take place in Brazil.
Silva, the UFC middleweight champion, defeated Sonnen in August, 2010 in one of the greatest fights to ever take place in the Octagon. Sonnen dominated the top pound-for-pound fighter in the world for the better part of four-and-a-half rounds before being caught in a submission with only minutes left in the fight.
Since that fight, Silva has gone on to defeat Yushin Okami and Vitor Belfort while Sonnen beat Michael Bisping and Brian Stann.
Also scheduled on the card is a bantamweight title fight between champion Dominick Cruz and former WEC champion Urijah Faber. It will be the third meeting between the two. Both are 1-1 against each other.
Other bouts include a third bout between former light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin and two middleweight matchups with Rich Franklin taking on Cung Le and Michael Bisping facing Tim Boetsch.
The card will go down on pay-per-view on July 7.
