Since being injured last February on an episode of WWE Raw, the fans have heard very little from former Intercontinental Champion, Wade Barrett.

Since March 2nd his Twitter account went silent after he posted that he was done with the site. Although he also mentioned that he would be back in a few months, most predicted that Wade was doing the smart thing and keeping away from social networking to keep his eventual return a surprise.

Yet today his account broke silence with two very odd messages that read as follows:

Due to a number of factors, Mr. Barrett has signed the administration of this account over to his attorney for the foreseeable future.

Mr. Barrett will be making no further comment at this stage. Regards, Peter Lazarou, Esq.

The two messages stick out like a sore thumb amongst all the other wrestling accounts I follow on the site and leave me scratching my head as to what is going on.

To me there are three possibilities as to what is happening with Wade in terms of these messages.

The first is the messages being the start to a new story for the man from Manchester. An attorney implies a legal angle. I would assume that if this were the case, then it could revolve around his real-life injury.

It seemed that Barrett hurt himself at the Elimination Chamber PPV when he delivered an elbow drop to Big Show. While he eventually recovered to finish the match, the following night his elbow was dislocated when Big Show threw R-Truth out of the ring and into Barrett.

In terms of a story, he could use this to give himself a quick push into the main event. He could come out one night and claim WWE made him compete when he wasn't fit to do so and would sue the company unless he is given a shot at the World Championship.

It's may be worth mentioning, though, that Barrett was expected to be sidelined for four months. Currently, only two have passed since that unlucky episode of Raw.

The second possibility is that Barrett is having real legal issues that requires his attorney to issue legal statements on his behalf. As for what they could be is currently up in the air, as nothing concrete beyond these messages has been released. Perhaps Barrett has been unjustly released from his contract and is making a legal dispute of it.

Then there is always the boring possibility that Wade Barrett is having a bit of fun at the expense of the fans. He's known for playing games with his followers (once he held a contest where people had to find pictures of chimpanzees that looked like Heath Slater) and this could merely be the latest prank to help pass the time.

Either way it seems we are going to have to wait for further statements. While it could be turn out to be nothing newsworthy,as of now it is something worth following.
