UFC 145 Results: Michael McDonald Defeats Miguel Torres Via Vicious Knockout

Andrew Saunders@SaundersMMACorrespondent IIApril 22, 2012

Michael McDonald is a rising prospect who has the potential to be a world champion someday. Tonight, he showed us that there's more to his skills than just hype as he defeated former WEC champion Miguel Torres.

The first round saw McDonald get off first and more frequently with the striking. A huge uppercut knocked Torres out cold, and it will take something amazing for any other fight to win KO of the Night.

With the win, McDonald improves his record to 15-1 and has already avenged the sole loss of his career. What's next for this future star? With a major win like this, anything is possible.

The loss has halted the momentum of a returning Torres, the former WEC champion, who suffers his second loss in four UFC appearances.
