Fabrice Muamba, after being in London Chest Hospital since March 17th, has been discharged on Monday, April 16th.  During Bolton's FA Cup quarterfinal against Tottenham, Fabrice collapsed on the pitch shortly before the halftime whistle blew.  His heart was stopped for a full 78 minutes, and accordingly the match was postponed due to the tragedy.

Fabrice publicly released this statement regarding his release from hospital care.

“I am naturally very pleased to be discharged from hospital and would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to every single member of staff at The London Chest Hospital who have played a part in my care.

Their dedication, professionalism and expertise is simply amazing and I will forever be in their debt. I also wish to say thank you to all the many well-wishers who have sent thousands of messages of support.

Now I am out of hospital, I am looking forward to continuing my recovery and spending precious time with my family.”

Whether Fabrice Muamba will ever see the pitch again, only time will tell.  Let us pray that he does, for he will continue to be a beacon of repair and a symbol of hope to those captivated by his story around the world.
