When it comes to thinking about the WWE Divas, I am sure everyone thinks about their wrestling skills first. Oh wait, you don’t? I don’t either.
The WWE Divas are there for eye candy for all the testosterone-driven wrestling fans. I am not saying that the Divas of present and past can’t wrestle, but fans by and large don’t really care for their skills inside the squared circle.
I have compiled a list of the hottest WWE Divas in the past 20 years in my opinion. Now, I know that most of you will not agree with this list 100 percent. So leave your comments at the end of the article with who you think I left out or misplaced on the list.
Some you may remember Debra Marshall as the valet of Jeff Jarrett or Steve ‘Mongo’ McMichael. Most of you, however, will probably remember her by one word: “puppies.”
Debra Marshall, or just “Debra,” paraded around the “Attitude Era” in her scantily clad business suits and many fans thanked her for it.
As far as wrestling skill went, Debra was probably one of the most unskilled Divas the WWE brought into the company.
Known as the first-ever WWE Diva, Sunny stole the hearts of many young wrestling fans in the mid to late 90’s. Sunny continued in the WWE until 1998 when she was released for various reasons.
While she was in the WWE, she managed Chris Candido, the Legion of Doom and the Smokin’ Gunns, among others. Sunny was also AOL’s most downloaded woman of 1996.
I may catch heat for putting Natalya above Sunny, but I will anyway.
Natalya, the niece of the great Bret Hart, came into the WWE in 2008 on the ECW brand. She formed up a stable, The Hart Dynasty, along with David Hart Smith and Tyson Kidd.
Natalya has been one of the most underrated divas since she has entered the WWE. She possesses great skill inside the ring but the WWE continues to involve her in useless storylines and she has garnered little push.
With that being said, she is still great to watch when we see her on TV.
Eve Torres is one of the most pushed Divas in recent months. The WWE has involved her in storylines with Zach Ryder and John Cena. Eve has made a heel turn by “using” males to get what she wants.
In my opinion, this side of Eve is better for the character. She has gone from flashy wrestling outfits and smiles to short dresses and manipulation. Look for a big year to continue for Eve throughout 2012.
Sable is probably one of the most famous WWE Divas. She appeared in the WWE in the late ‘90s and early 2000’s. Sable was involved in many main storylines in the Attitude Era. She was also involved with several bikini contests and gimmicked divas matches.
Many older wrestling fans may also recall that Sable has graced the cover of Playboy three different times. Be careful what you say when you see her though; her husband is the “War Machine” Brock Lesnar.
Arguably the best wrestler in the history of the Divas division is Trish Stratus. She won the WWE Women’s Championship seven times. In addition to her time in the ring, she was involved as a manager and also a party to many different storylines.
Outside of the WWE, Stratus was a model and a fitness guru. Stratus has made appearances off and on since her retirement in the WWE. Fans everywhere hope that trend will continue.
Many mainstream entertainment fans have recently come to know Stacy Keibler.
Keibler is the girlfriend of George Clooney. Keibler also made an appearance on the show “Dancing with the Stars.”
During her time in the WWE, Keibler was known as a manager and a wrestler. She has notable feuds with Torrie Wilson during her time in the WWE.
Many fans will remember Keibler by her noticeably long legs.
Much like her friend Stacy Keibler, Torrie Wilson is involved with a big-named celebrity. Wilson is currently dating the New York Yankees' Alex Rodriguez. During her tenure with the WWE, Wilson was involved in racy storylines with the likes of Sable, Dawn Marie and Stacy Keibler.
Wilson, like Sable, has posed for Playboy. She has appeared in the magazine on two different occasions. She has also modeled for other magazines and publications since she has left the WWE.
Many of the people reading this article may think Stephanie McMahon was placed too high on the list. I think she rightfully deserves the No. 2 spot.
McMahon is the daughter of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. Stephanie appeared on TV in the late ‘90’s and early 2000’s and was involved in many high-profile storylines.
McMahon has also appeared in other fitness publications and media outlets. She is currently involved in the WWE as Vice President of the Creative team.
Having Kelly Kelly top my list of the top 10 hottest divas should come as little surprise to the readers. She’s blonde, beautiful, and athletic.
Kelly Kelly made her debut in the WWE in 2006. She was on the ECW brand and was involved in stripteases on-camera. These days Kelly Kelly is a much more family-friendly character. She is the top babyface for the Diva division.
While many say her wrestling skills lack, I being one of them, Kelly Kelly brings charisma to the division. While it is easy to see Kelly Kelly lacks skill inside the ring, it hard to argue what she has to deliver in the looks department.
