With the shocking 2-1 loss to Barnsely, Liverpool crashed out of yet another title race, leaving many fans flustered and angry.
"What the heck is going on?!"
Many are thinking, "We can beat Inter Milan, but we can't destroy Barnsely?!" While Liverpool's season has gone up and down, manager Rafael Benitez has been squirming in his seat, praying that his team can pull together and win.
All is not lost, however. Liverpool have something to go on as they travel to the San Siro to face Inter Milan, as opposed to the other English teams who have struggled to produce anything with their draws.
While many fans are bitter about the crashed hopes of lifting the Premier League Cup at the end of the season, I believe that Liverpool are quite capable of reaching the European final yet again. Although Liverpool have to keep and eye on the number four spot on the table, I'm sure that they can shove their way to Moscow in May. A repeat of 2005 in the making, with Liverpool slipping out of the title race at home, but returning later to clinch European glory.
Others may scoff, and say "It's Manchester's year." or "It's Arsenal. No doubt about it." Maybe they should remember that Europe runs in Liverpool's veins. Especially now that they don't have to worry about the other competitions, unlike Manchester Utd. who have to battle it out with Arsenal for that top spot.
Liverpool have also been buoyed by the new signing of Javier Mascherano, "Monster Masch". "El Nino" Torres is in superb form now. He is "tearing up the field" as they say. Daniel Agger is close to returning, and Stevie G is making the net beg for mercy with his rocket shots.
Let's look to make it our sixth European title. C'mon you Reds!

Liverpool have more to worry about than Man Utd do in the league. Man Utd are at least going to be in the champions league next season. Liverpool unless they win the CL, will not.
