Red Sox center-fielder Jacoby Ellsbury left Friday's game holding his right arm to his body with an apparent shoulder injury after he was injured sliding into second base in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Ellsbury was running on a 3-and-2 pitch when Rays shortstop Reid Brignac, who moved toward second when Ellsbury broke for the bag, fielded a ground ball by Dustin Pedroia, stepped on the base and threw to first.
