In a season full of great stories, it is often easy for certain players to get overlooked. For 2008, I would argue that the most overlooked story is the end of Marlon Lucky’s time at Nebraska.
This may be because he didn’t take the field on Senior Day in Lincoln. The emergence of younger backs could have potentially obscured Lucky’s contribution to Nebraska. Fans may not want to acknowledge what this young man brought to the Huskers during his career.
After enduring massive expectations, and some possible guilt by association on the way to record-setting results, Lucky is now set to leave Nebraska for the NFL. I offer this tribute to a young man who has contributed and helped reshape the way we view running backs at Nebraska.
