Prince Fielder, Milwaukee Brewers Agree to Two Year, $18 Million Deal

Right Field BleachersCorrespondent IJanuary 22, 2009

Milwaukee and first baseman Prince Fielder have collaborated on a two year, $18 million deal, pending a physical, according to Tom Haudricourt.  His 2009 and 2010 salaries are unknown, but Haudricourt speculates $7 million this season and $11 million next season.

Fielder was offered $6 million in arbitration by Milwaukee, while he submitted an $8 million request. If Prince has a decent season, this contract could potentially save Milwaukee a lot of money next season. In addition, it would increase his trade value.

There are more updates to come.
